Jaguar has started testing the second-generation XF sedan. The first-gen Jaguar XF made its debut in 2017 and went through a facelift in 2011. Now it’s time to consider the second-generation model, which is due in 2016.

The sedan will feature a longer wheelbase. It will be based on Jaguar's new IQ[AL] platform, which is also used in the XE model, making the new XF 100 kg lighter than its predecessor.

While nothing is official, the new model is likely to be fitted not only with the new four-cylinder engines but also with the 3.0-litre V6’s. The XFR-S version will most probably carry a 5.0-litre turbocharged V8.

The new XF will be available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
