Starting from the next season, the Russian driver Daniil Kvyat will race for Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team. On the other hand, the four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel will join Scuderia Ferrari, leaving a vacant place for the Russian driver.
“Daniil Kvyat looks an outstanding talent; he shows an unbelievable speed, great control over the car and enormous motivation. As for Sebastian, he has been with Red Bull for 15 years as a junior driver and as a Formula 1 driver… We’ve achieved a great deal together and we’ve enjoyed a lot of success. We’ve had some great times — on and off track — and we’ll look back on those with great fondness and affection. As of January 1st, he’ll be a competitor. He’ll be a Ferrari driver”, team boss Christian Horner told the British magazine Sky Sports. “We wish Sebastian all the very best in his sports career”, says the Austrian team’s press release. “We're pleased to announce that Daniel Ricciardo will be joined in the team for 2015 by another rising star from the Junior Programme, Daniil Kvyat.”
The members of Red Bull Racing team say farewell with a sad heart to their champion who leaves for Ferrari. From now on, they will be putting all their knowledge in the Russian driver. Dr. Helmut Marko, head of Red Bull's driver development programme, said Daniil was stunned by the news: “Daniil Kvyat looks an outstanding talent; he shows an unbelievable speed, great control over the car and enormous motivation. When we told him this news today, he went pale and was deeply surprised. Well, I do agree this is not the right way to give such kind of information to a person, when he’s eating cornflakes for breakfast”.
Well, Daniil Kvyat would definitely never forget that breakfast.
