The auction house RM Auctions will offer in Texas a one-off 2002 Lincoln Continental concept. But there is a slight hitch here — its engine is broken.

For the first time, the 2002 Lincoln Continental was set for auction four years ago. It was in a rather poor technical condition — its engine wouldn’t start at all. Anyway, that wasn’t much of a problem as it was just a concept not licensed for use on public roads. The vehicle was sold for $56,100. This time its price is not reserved and will depend on fans’ demand.

The rear-wheel drive 2002 Lincoln Continental concept is fitted with a 6.0-litre V12 delivering (actually, not delivering at the moment) 420 hp and 558 Nm, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. It features a multi-link front and rear independent suspension.

On the outside, this car is reminiscent of the fourth-generation Continental built in the 60s. One of the concept’s most distinctive elements is an unusual hydraulically-powered deck lid that houses three storage drawers and a set of Zero Halliburton luggage.
