Cadillac does not rule out production of hybrids and promises to reveal new sports cars and SUVs in the nearest future.
Cadillac's brand chief Johan de Nysschen made several interesting accents in his report about updating the company’s model range.
First of all, one or two sports cars might join Cadillac’s lineup. They are expected to take the room above the upcoming flagship sedan, which is due to arrive in 2016 and compete with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Secondly, the automaker might start production of a compact crossover and a SUV. The latter will find its place between the SRX and Escalade.
Thirdly, the company does not rule out a hybrid model. In spite of having some difficulties with the ELR hybrid, Cadillac still wants to create its successor.
At the moment, the company is developing a new modular engine family that can be structured for four, six or eight cylinders.
Johan de Nysschen did not reveal the dates when the new models are scheduled to arrive.
