In order to help the future owners of Porsches save some money or to give a chance for those who would like to become familiar with the legendary brand, although their bank accounts cannot boast of many-zero numbers, Porsche decided to build a Boxster with minimized output.
There is no word yet about the date when the detuned roadster is going to hit the market or even about the current stage of the project. Nevertheless, Porsche’s retail sites in Belgium shared a few details about the engines. The Boxster will not be fitted with a four-cylinder motor — it will stick to the previous six-cylinder 2.7-litre version. However, its horsepower will be detuned from 265 to 211 hp. It will offer a choice of a manual or PDK transmission.
The surprise lies in the fact that the price for the Porsche Boxster has not been changed. The 211-hp version will cost the same as the 256-hp one — €52,030. The Belgians will have to pay for the cost-effectiveness.
