General Motors is getting ready with the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette featuring a mid-engine layout.
According to the company’s plans, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is due to arrive in 2017 and it is likely to bear the Zora name and have a ZR1 badge. Mid-engine layout will become one of its outstanding features, as all previous Corvettes were either front- or rear-engined. The sports car has been featuring these types of engine layout for 61 years!
The Corvette C8 will come with a V8 engine, although no performance figures are available at the moment. What is known is that the new generation cars will be faster and more powerful than their predecessors as the carmaker will increase their power and reliability.
The company wants to reduce the weight of the new model with the help of carbon fibre and aluminium.
The price of the Zora will start at $150,000.
