The British designers and engineers from Rolls-Royce still hesitate whether they should build a SUV.
Rolls-Royce CEO Thorsten Müller-Otvos considers the SUV segment to be very interesting but the problem is that the process of “serious consideration” takes a lot of time.
Together with that, the company’s director of design Giles Taylor has reported that they had already started working on a design project of a car that should be something between a crossover and a sports wagon. Apparently, this decision has been taken after a thorough examination of the SUV market. Being luxurious is not enough, they also want the new model to stand out of the crowd.
While the British carmaker is contemplating, BMW has announced a big X7 SUV, which should arrive in 2017. While nothing is official, the model will likely be built on a new platform, which will also be used for the Rolls-Royce SUV.
