The British Formula 1 driver Jenson Button said he might quit the championship after the end of this season.
“We haven’t sat down and talked about it. If I have to retire at the end of the season then so be it”, Jenson Button said speaking to the BBC.
This announcement was made because the contract with McLaren has not been signed yet. Quite soon, the team will reunite cooperation with the engine manufacturer Honda. Together with that, they would like to «refresh» the team’s driver line-up and invite Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel.
Button had his Formula 1 debut in 2000 and has been driving for McLaren for the last 5 years. It seems like the Williams F1 team is setting sights on him so he might just get a transfer: “I feel I have so much more to give and I can’t imagine life without motorsport and especially Formula One”.
