Cadillac to expand its model range

Cadillac's chief engineer has suggested the brand is working on a convertible, a flagship sedan, and new hybrid models.

Dave Leone was generous with details about the upcoming models. The LTS flagship sedan is to be the lightest in its class thanks to extended use of aluminium in its body. The sedan is likely to be powered by 4-cylinder turbocharged V6 or V8 engines. Obviously, it will be rivalling the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

What concerns the coupé, it might be a successor to the XLR roadster or the ATS convertible. By the way, the company’s Vice President Robert Ferguson has not been supporting the idea of expanding the ATS model range earlier.

Cadillac also plan to launch hybrid-powered models, however, not much was said about them by Leone. The only thing announced was that the company did not have any plans on building the most budget-friendly models.
