Lotus considers building a SUV instead of traditional sports cars.
An automotive trend for eco-friendliness and fuel efficiency sits alongside the love for large cars in a rather mysterious way. Quite recently, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Aston Martin expanded their model ranges with SUVs.
The famous sports car manufacturer Lotus decided to keep up with them and build its own SUV. It will be based on the APX concept car revealed back in 2006.
It’s a both rather curious and bitter fact that the company made a decision not to emphasise the sports character of the car. According to Lotus’s representatives, it’s a timely decision to launch production of a comfortable everyday city car. Although Lotus has never been associated with some day-to-dayness.
