The new-generation Ford Mustang sports car will be fitted with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It was developed by Ford in cooperation with General Motors and it will be used in both passenger cars and SUVs.
The new-generation Ford F-150 pickup truck will be among the first models to make friends with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Next will be the turn of the Mustang sports car. The latter has been previously fitted with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.
By the way, apart from Ford, there are two more companies working on developing a ten-speed automatic gearbox — Hyundai and Kia.
On top of everything else, Ford will launch official Mustang sales in Russia in 2015. More than 35,000 Russian customers cast their vote in an online poll on the company’s website. Trim levels, engine lineup, and quota are yet to be determined; however, the strategic decision has already been taken.
