Next-generation BMW 7-Series will become 200 kg lighter. It will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2015.
Under the bonnet, it will carry a whole range of engines with displacements from 2.0-litres all the way to 6.0-litres, which should be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car will be available with both rear- and all-wheel drive layouts.
It is reported that the BMW 7-Series will be based on the new 35up platform, which uses aluminium, carbon fibre, high-strength steel, and magnesium. As a result, the weight of the premiere should not exceed 1,650 kg.
A sports modification will be also available; however, its technical specs are kept in secret. Perhaps, it will be fitted with a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 delivering around 600 hp. Well, everything is good in its season, so let us wait for the details.
