The South African division of Toyota Gazoo Racing team is going in the next year to win the rally-raid «Dakar».
Engineers built a mid-race SUV based on the Hilux pickup truck, which is equipped with 5-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine with 38 mm restrictor. The dynamic characteristics of the SUV were not reported, and the weight is only 1300 kg (650 kg lighter than the previous version).
For Toyota Hilux Evo prepared suspension with increased speed, off-road wheels with a diameter of 940 millimeters and an onboard pressure monitoring system in tires. By the way, it is prohibited for use in the classroom all-wheel drive vehicles and are thrust to the rear wheels.
It is known that from the Toyota Gazoo Racing team in the «Dakar» will participate three crew. They will have to overcome route with a total length of 8500 kilometers on the territory of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.
