We will determine the winners of all three classes in the capital of Chechen Republic.
Last year “Fortress Groznaya” already held 2 stages of RDRC, one of them was on the opening day of the racetrack. In 2016, the organizers once again decided to use the dragstrip (straight track for drag racing) of the newest Russian racetrack for the final stage of the season. Its quality, its infrastructure and the professionality of its employees allow to run competitions at the highest level.
The entrance for both days — Saturday and Sunday — during the final stage of Russian Drag Racing Championship is absolutely free for the audience.
We will see the thrilling battle for the champions’ crowns in all three classes: FWD (front wheel drive), AWD (all wheel drive) and RWD (rear wheel drive).
Oksana Yakovleva from Krasnoyarsk is well ahead of all her rivals in FWD class. For the first time in the history of Russian drag racing a woman has the highest chances for the win. Interestingly, that her main rival in many races is also a woman — Yana Kholodkovskaya (Tolyatti), the real princess of drag racing, who has a lot of fans across whole country.
Five participants will race for the championship in AWD class. Dmitry Mandrikov (Novosibirsk), Alexey Krivolapov (Vladivostok) and Stanislav Lunev (Chelyabinsk) have the highest chances. Dmitry is the leader in this group, but he is just 7 points ahead of Alexey and Stanislav. It means that all of them will fight to the utterance.
In RWD class, the unexpected changes are also possible in the duel for the 2nd and the 3rd place, moreover, we can expect the new ET and trap speed records in this class (the current record is 6.548s at 362.90km/h).
In 2015 Dmitry Samorukov set the new records on the racetrack “Fortress Groznaya” in this category. This season, Dmitry has even more powerful promod and has all the chances to beat his own records: the power output of his Dodge Viper DT is now 4000hp, and during the 1st stage in Krasnoyarsk he has already shown the time, which is better than the record one.

Last year we had 2 stages of RDRC here and we were amazed with the preparation’s quality of “Fortress Groznaya” racetrack and its employees professionality. So during the making of this season timetable we had no doubts: the final stage must be in Grozny.
First three stages in Krasnoyarsk and Nizhny Novgorod made the leaders in all classes. It is early to talk about the uncontestable winners; the final battle will take place during the 4th stage.
The audience, who will come here in the next weekend, will be lucky twice: they will be able to see the culmination of the season and can witness the new Russian ¼ mile records. Last year, Dmitry Samorukov set the records in ET and trap speed here — on the dragstrip of “Fortress Groznaya” racetrack.”
Three promods will participate in the RDRC competitions in Grozny — cars, specially constructed and built for the drag racing. The power output of each of them exceeds 1000hp. All of them are participating in RWD class (rear wheel drive).
