Mercedes-Benz in cooperation with the AMG tuning studio will produce a new lineup of boosted models. A-, C-, E- and S-Class, GL and M-Class SUVs, GLK and GLA crossovers will get the boosted versions.
As reported by Autocar, the new cars should feature modified petrol- and diesel-powered engines, electronics and chassis. It means that Audi Sport and BMW M Performance should better put a thinking hat on as AMG is not to be trifled with. Apart from that, the cars will get new exterior and interior elements.
“We have identified growing demand for our more overtly sporting models, both in petrol and diesel guises. We intend to extend our range with a new line of models developed in partnership with AMG”, an insider revealed to Autocar.
The first one to arrive is the C450 AMG Sport fitted with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine borrowed from the C400 modification producing 367 hp.
