The International Automobile Federation and the China Federation of Motorsports canceled stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC) due to prolonged heavy rains and floods. However, perhaps there is another reason: the organization of the rally «Silk Road» was so far from the ideal that the Chinese federation decided not to continue to overestimate their strength.
Its representatives recognized that the road services do not have time to restore the blurred roadbed to the beginning of September (the rally was scheduled for 8–11).
Thus, the number of races in the WRC this season will be reduced to thirteen. The next phase will start on August 18 in Germany, and then — 29 September in France, and will end the season in the November race in Australia.
While the first three lines of the championship occupy the Volkswagen team's drivers — Sebastien Ogier, Andreas Mikkelsen and Jari-Matti Latvala.
