Mercedes-Benz launched production of an armoured S-Class Guard at the company’s plant in Sindelfingen.
With all due thoroughness, Mercedes-Benz have built an armoured flagship sedan protected against sniper fire and even hand grenades. However, there is no information how the company is going to protect the nervous system of its customers.
Under the bonnet sits a 6.0-litre 530-hp V12 coupled with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
Quite obviously, the car will be heavier than the standard version as it uses 5-cm thick steel plates and a 10-cm thick windshield. All together, the car is 135 kg heavier and €200,000 more expensive.
In the nearest future, the company plans to launch production of an armoured Pullman rumoured to weigh up to 5 tonnes and priced at about €1 million.
