On the sports car BAC Mono graphene changed the carbon

The world's first sports car received the BAC Mono wheel arches of graphene.
The British company Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) for the first time in the world applied for the manufacture of body panels (or more precisely — the rear wheel arch) graphite. This material was compared to carbon fiber thinner, lighter and stronger, but more expensive and, therefore, unlikely to widespread use. Graphene sports car components involved Haydale Composite Solutions (HCS), «daughter» Haydale Graphene Industries.
However, graphene has allowed a 20% reduction in BAC Mono weight up to 580 kg, but 200 times more reliable than steel.
Under the hood of single BAC Mono installed 310-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The first sports car overcomes a hundred in 2.8 seconds and top speed is limited at around 273 kilometers per hour.

The debut took place at the festival «Science City» in Manchester. Price BAC Mono likely will start with no less than 230 thousand dollars.
