Alpine, owned by Renault, plans to expand the lineup. According to the publication to Autocar, citing the managing director of Alpine Michael van der Sande, this winter the brand will debut mid-engined rear-wheel drive with a serial coupe, which may well receive and «charged» version, and at the same time serve as a basis for the convertible.
Recall, Alpine Car discontinued in 1995, but the last few years, Renault purposefully engaged in the revival of the brand. The public has shown two concepts — Celebration rally and civil Vision.
Probably under the hood of the coupe is a 1.8-liter «turbochetverka» (in basis — a 1.6-liter engine from the Renault Clio R.S.). Power ranges from 250 to 300 hp
The main competitor is considered to be a model Porsche 718 Cayman.
