Porsche 962 won the 1989 marathon «24 Hours of Daytona», estimated at auction of $ 2.5 million on a maximum and a minimum of 1.8 million.
In winning the race the Porsche 962 was piloted by an Englishman Derek Bell (this was his last victory in the marathon and this car he called his favorite). His team-mates were then John Andretti and Bob Volek.

As for the car, under its hood — a modified 830-horsepower (in stock — 700 hp) 2.8-liter turbo engine. Maximum speed coupe race is 378 kilometers per hour.
Porsche 962 will be sold at auction in the Mecum Monterey, California from 18 to 20 August 2016.
