Jaguar consider the XE sedan to use aluminium for more than 75 percent of its body to make it lighter.

“This gives us a body structure with unrivalled low weight. It’s light but also immensely strong, with extremely high levels of torsional stiffness. We’ve made sure our aluminium-intensive body structure exceeds all global safety standards without compromising on vehicle design or refinement”, said Mark White, Jaguar’s chief technical specialist. The body of the new model uses over 75 percent of “flying metal”.

But that’s not all. The premiere will be fitted with suspension similar to that used in the F-type sports car, which will definitely improve the car's handling.

In order to earn full interest of the marque’s fans, Jaguar bring forward one more argument — low fuel consumption rate. It is expected to be less than 4 litres/100km. And that is thanks to a four-cylinder diesel-powered engine from the new Ingenium family.

The sedan will be revealed in London on September 8th.
