The competition was attended by about 70 pilots from different countries, including Latvia, Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, as well as various cities of Russia.
As compared with the first stage, this time the participants was slightly lower and this is due, firstly, the fact that part Volg takes part in the next stage NLS competition, which is held on Nizhegorodskiy ring, and, secondly, the fact that the majority of the Baltic athletes arrived last time in order to participate in the «Friendship Cup» tournament. This tournament was held in the framework of the 1st stage MCGP, his next step will be held July 30–31 at the racetrack in Biķernieki, where a team of Russian pilots also go.
The vast majority of participants came at the start of the races in the category «sports» — «Volga», «Lada», «Moskvich» and «formula.» Among them — a lot of famous names in Russian motorsport — Vladimir Cherevan (class «Lada 1600» №17), Michael Zasadych (class «Lada +» №777), Natalia Goltsova (class «Moskvich 1600» №37), Edgard Lindgren (class «Formula 1300» №71), Alexander Potekhin (class «Formula 1600» №37), Alexander Kirillov (class «Moskvich 1600» №412).
Still about two dozen athletes were in Time Attack format, and here, too, was something to see. Certainly the most striking car in this category was the Ford GT40 MK IV, belonging to Muscovite Alexander Droginu. No doubt, it belongs to him, and the best lap time of 2 stages.
In addition to individual athletes in their respective classes, the results of which is supplied at each stage, in the Moscow Classic Grand Prix works team championship with the award at the end of the season as a result of three stages. In the season of 2016 involved eight teams, seven of them are competing in the classes «Sport» with a common start: «The time ahead», «Neva Classic», «Soviet Union», UMMC-1, UMMC-2, «Volga-Volga» and D Rennsport. «Simonov Motors» team has traditionally been a time attack in the discipline for the best lap time. According to the regulations, the team may consist of representatives of the various classes, and many athletes use this advantage to score the highest total number of points.
As they say, who get up early... In general, additional and very unusual bonus on July 4 was the Moscow Raceway SS International rally-marathon «Beijing-Paris» (Peking to Paris Motor Challenge 2016). In the configuration supersprint participants passed the regularity race, after which they continued their movement from East to West and went through Smolensk to Minsk and on to Paris through Poland, Slovakia and others.
However, these races took place only from 9 am to 12 pm, however, the visitors could witness the unusual cars and equally unusual people, who for 36 days have to overcome almost 15 thousand kilometers.
Among the participating cars are real rarity of the global automotive industry — from the American La France 1915 Bentley Le Mans 1927 to the more recent historical standards for Volvo Amazon, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang of the sixties.
Shared experiences and the commands themselves. We bring you the story of the last step on behalf of the team UMMC Motorsport.
July 4, morning, beautiful weather pleased us !!!!! The mood of the team is vigorous, all ready to race !!!
Let's start with the class Volga. Denis Samsonov had some small problems, but with the help of the team to the final race it was all fixed. As a result, Denis classically that on dry asphalt, that the rain — won both races !!!! Denis Bravo!
In the class «Lada 1600» our team was represented by two pilots — Matisse Mezhaks and Leonid Protasov. With the speed of Matisse in the first race it was good, but because of problems with the electrician, he had to stop in the pits. After checking the car it became clear that you can go, just a little slower. It was agreed that Matisse in any case it is necessary to return to the track to earn points. As a result — the 7th place in the first race. The second arrival all the faults have been eliminated. We were on hand, and the fact it began to rain, and UMMC MOTORSPORTS engineers work very well on rain settings. The result of the second race Matisse — 2nd place. At the end of stage — 4th place, until the prizes did not have quite a bit.
As for Leonid Protasov, he had no luck. Even with the last stage of his minders can not possibly build the engine. This is very disappointing, as Protasov — a great driver with a great experience. We hope that it will be possible to engineer a third step to solve all problems. Outcome Leonid step — 7th place.
Class Formulas — «» Mondial «» and «» East «.
At the «Mondial» our team was represented by two private pilot Arthur Prednieks and Sergey Gorshenev.
Let's start with Artur. In the first race he was leading at first, but when the weather began to change, then, as they say in slang in motorsport, one of the carburetors started «» scribbling ', and Arthur finished only third. As for Sergei Gorsheneva, that despite the problems with the gearbox and the complete lack of any training in the past 15–20 years, he managed to come fourth.
By the second race it started to rain. Before the start of 25 minutes, while Gorsheneva gearbox still unassembled. The command «» Abraham «Igor Loginov, Mikhail Loginov Sr. and Mikhail Loginov Jr. rushed to his aid! As a result, not only to put a box, but still managed to set up the machine to rain race! However, because of this, Sergey started from pitlane, but finished the race third! And Arthur won the race, the mechanics worked on glory! Stage Summary — Arthur Prednieks —2 nd place, Sergei Gorshenev —3 place!
In formule''Vostok '' Our team was represented by 2 pilots Andrey Boyko and Vyacheslav Shumilov.
The first race was held not as we would like. Andrew could not catch up with the most experienced rider Edgard Lindgren of the fine in the form of travel in the pitlane allowed for a false start. As for Slava, he also received the pitlane for travel on the same mistake, but in the heat of battle did not notice the flags. It should have been disqualified, but did not have time: he stopped because of breakage of the fuel system. The result of the first race: Andrey Boyko — 2nd place, Vyacheslav Shumilov — gathering.
In the second race the weather was rainy, we just hand the team engineers understand a lot about the rain settings! As a result, Andrey Boyko —1y in his classification, and Vyacheslav Shumilov came second. Phase Outcome: Andrew Boyko, on the 1 st place, Vyacheslav Shumilov — on the 4th.
