New modification of the Dodge Charger will be revealed in 2015. The sedan will carry the same engine as the Challenger.
As reported by Road & Track, the Charger will get a 6.2-litre petrol-powered V8 engine delivering 707 hp and 880 Nm. At the moment, it is the most powerful eight-cylinder engine produced by Chrysler.
The engine had its debut in the Challenger SRT Hellcat this May. It features forged crankshaft and pistons, aluminium-alloy cylinder heads, and carbon-coated piston pins.
While there’s still been no official confirmation on the use of this engine yet, however, the SAE certificate issued for the Hellcat engine indicates the possibility of its use not only in the Challenger, but in the Charger as well. In this case, Charger stands a good chance to become one of the most powerful sedans.
