Current season for Steve Torrence develops very well, it is pretty hard settled in third place of the standings with a minimal lag from the defending champion Antron Brown. Its asset has two trophies, four appearances in the finals and the first six places in the past eleven of Event on results of the qualifying session.
However, recently it was reported that due to health problems forced the pilot to miss the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment, which is the final stage of the June Eastern Swing Marathon. What exactly happened with Steve is not specified, but in a statement the press indicated that the experience of the driver is not necessary, and in the very near future, he will return to the strip.

I felt bad after I left the gym and went to the hospital on their own. I went through several treatments last night, and now I feel good. However, not good enough to sit behind the wheel of 10,000-strong dregster. The doctor believes that it is extremely cheesy idea, but I'll be back in operation in Chicago on Route 66 NHRA Nationals....

The absence of Steve on the twelfth event of the national championship is unlikely to somehow affect his position in the standings, but it is bound to increase the difference in points between him and Antron Brown and championship leader Doug Kalittoy. At the moment, Torrence ahead of Brittany Force almost one hundred points, and to move it to the third place, the daughter of the most titled pilot association require at least a victory at this event.
