The competitions on the autodrome «Red ring» are held according to a traditional schedule: qualifying runs start on Saturday and finish on Sunday, final races take place on Sunday afternoon.
The organizer of the championship, Dragtimes Company, is preparing the drag strip in a peculiar way as before: several layers of special glue to improve the road adherence are applied to the first 200 meters of an asphalt coat. Perhaps, it will promote the new records of the route. Now the current champion of the autodrome is Vadim Timashev from Krasnoyarsk: during the RDRC in 2015 he made 402 meters of the distance in 7,955 seconds.
Tigran Seferyan, the chairman of the committee of drag racing of the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF): «The new season will give us a new fight for the champion's title. For the last winter many participants have prepared the cars even better, some of them have changed the vehicles completely. Therefore we are ready for unexpected results, fight for split seconds and new records, this time in Krasnoyarsk.
A new dragster of Pro Modified class which is piloted by Dmitry Samorukov (RWD) in 2016 can be considered as one of the main odds-on-favourites for a record. Last year Dmitry had a similar car, however by a new season he has decided to change it for a newer and more powerful vehicle. On early tests in Sweden Samorukov has made 1/8 miles in 4,18 seconds on this dragster.
We are glad that the first stage of the Championship takes place in Krasnoyarsk again: RDRC has been held on the route „Red ring“ for several years, and always provides exciting competitions. The staff of the autodrome helps us much and does the work perfectly».
The first stage of Russian Drag Racing Championship in Krasnoyarsk will be accompanied by drag racing competitions of Russian Automobile Federation Cup. The runs are going to take place along with RDRC therefore the audience will be able to see more starts of the most various cars.

- On June 25, stands of A0, A1, A2, A3 — 200 rubles;
- On June 26, stands of A1, A2, A3 — 300 rubles;
- On June 26, A0 tribune — 500 rubles;
The VIP Bilet, on June 25–26, access to technical park and Pit Stop cafe — 2000 rubles (it is possible to get on an entrance in days of competitions).
The season of Russian Drag Racing Championship 2016 includes four stages:
On June 25–26 — 1 stage, Krasnoyarsk, the autodrome «Red ring»;
On July 30–31 — the 2nd stage, the Moscow region;
On August 13–14 — the 3rd stage, Nizhny Novgorod, ASK «Nizhny Novgorod Ring»;
On September 10–11 — the 4th stage, Grozny, the autodrome «Fort Grozny».
