Motor factory has received name B57. With its creation, using technology that was used for the N57S engine with triple turbocharger.
Instead turbocharger used previously took two more compact.
This led to a big impact, but it has been limited due to the transmission. Thus, a new motor 395 outputs the horsepower and torque of 760 Nm (in the range from 2000 to 3000 rev / min). By the way, the engine became 5% more economical 380-horsepower predecessor.
It is known that the engine will be mounted on the BMW 750d xDrive and work together with the 8-speed automatic ZF. On dispersal to first hundred in 4.5 seconds is required.
Also new will be installed on more affordable models, including sedan and 5-series crossover X5.
