The German auto group Volkswagen AG is so tough that it considers acquiring three automotive brands at a time: Fiat Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, and Ferrari.
Right now, the company is engaged in negotiations with the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles auto group. No official statements have been made by either of the groups so far, all details are kept in secret. Apparently, the Italians don’t want to part with Alfa Romeo and Ferrari.
In the meantime, VW share prices dropped by 1.5%. Volkswagen AG is still the largest automaker in Europe; it comprises VW, Audi, Škoda, SEAT, Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini marques.
What concerns the Alfa Romeo brand, representatives of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles were going to invest money and make it as independent as Ferrari and Maserati. Well, they did not want to leave Chrysler behind either and there were similar recovery plans for the American model.
VW is unlikely to overmaster all three brands; however, at least one of them will fall into the hands of the German auto group.
