The author of the idea to take part in the daily race at Daytona Speedway became ETCC champion in the BMW Alpina CSL Coupe 1977 Dieter Quester, the initiative which was launched in the US BMW Alpina B6 GT3.
One of the crew of pilots, who took third place in the class, was Andy Bovenzipen — representative of the family, who founded the legendary group. As a result of their participation in the marathon studio released the official video.
