German studio Wimmer Rennsporttechnik developed a tuning program for the «charged» Volkswagen Polo R WRC, which made its debut in 2012 in an edition of 2500 copies. Now nothing prevents bring the power up to 420 horsepower.
Under the hood is a 220-strong 2-liter turbo engine, aggregated with 6-step «mechanics». The tuning program is a multi-stage character. It all depends on the client's wishes — finalization of the turbine, the fuel pump, the installation of «sports» exhaust system, recalibration of the engine management unit, helical suspension the KW, air filter K & N, 17-inch alloy OZ wheels...
If you do not indulge in anything that program improvements will cost 10 200 euros.
And if you show reasonable restraint, forcing the car «just something» to 260 hp, it will cost only 1,050 euros.
Dynamic characteristics yet are not informed, but the Polo R WRC without modification package overcomes the first hundred in 6.4 seconds and accelerates to 243 kilometers per hour. And with the improvements Wimmer Rennsporttechnik specialists are ready to move the electronic speed limiter to a mark of 280 kilometers per hour.
