BMW intends to discontinue the production of «charged» the M5 sedan with the «mechanics» already this autumn.
According to Car and Driver, referring to the head of Frank van Mila M GmbH, the rejection of the «mechanics» is dictated by the fact that the demand for such version «tends to zero».
However, as emphasized by a top manager, «We remain committed to a mechanical box and offer it to M2, M3 and M4.»
As for the BMW M5, the version with six-speed «mechanics» was intended for the US market, but on the next generation M5 and M6 it is not, it will give way to a robotized transmissions.
BMW M5, aggregated with 7-band semi-automatic transmission, equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo «eight» power of 560 forces (Competition Package — 575 troops). Model overcomes the first hundred in 4.3 seconds and a top speed limited to 305 kilometers per hour.
