The new Mercedes E-class and his relationship with a man.
Once in December last year, the company introduced separately Mercedes interior of the new E-Class, I expect that the same will be submitted separately, and other parts of the car, but no, nothing happened.

But, hand on heart, I can say that the new E-cabin was more than worthy of a separate presentation, especially since there were mentioned and technology that were to form a new generation of the stuffing.
This time it was the turn and test drive the entire vehicle as a whole. Impressions is brought abound.
The new Mercedes E-class — one of the most technologically advanced cars on which I went. Sometimes it is so technologically, it seems that there is a driver and is not needed at all.
After the testing of new technologies, a whole bunch of recall fiction movies where the car sees the person as a fairly useless appendage, intercepting his control and not trusting in situations that require instant responses. There is this is still not reached, but judging by how intellectual development occurs, time is just around the corner.

These technologies have both external and «internal» expression. The first thing that greets you when you're going to sit in the car — it is a huge digital panel monitor, which looks more like a panoramic cinema, rather than the car displays. After these monitors «Tesla» with its iPads in the middle of the center console looks small and weak.

This display is suitable in itself and the dashboard and multimedia system are managed as a standard joystick and using touchpads on either side of the steering wheel. The only thing that held the touchpads on the same principle as that of the actual management on Blackberry: a little strange to those accustomed to the traditional management on smartphones.

If you say a word or two about the display, it would be desirable to note in addition to its size and has an incredible image quality, and the fact that Mercedes has remained true to himself: I like the monitors are not built into the console, and fastened on top. This same philosophy is used in the same «Gelendvagenah», for example, but in the E-class is made sleeker and more creative.
However, for several years, as the Mercedes brand car showrooms not only surprised, but also pleased. From cars with a lounge-style «furniture set my grandmother,» they turn into vehicles in high-tech style, and this very high-tech available in sufficient quantities, but nothing too much.
In general, looking at a new system monitor, come to mind cars of the future, where the windows do not have, in principle, and they are all replaced by projected images from the cameras. It would be desirable, of course, that before this is not reached, but at least here we can see that it is more than possible.
During a short, but very inspiring test drive, thoughts about the future of cars came to my mind more often than might be desired.
As a dedicated driver and avid mechanical gearbox, I'm not too sympathetic to the fact that I have taken the opportunity to steer. And although the new E-Class does not take it, but only offers an alternative, I will still take it quite earnestly.

The new autopilot system (Drive Pilot) I, frankly, amazed. All that with a gasp as the Swedes presented incredible novelty here looks have long held. All the emergency brake, smart cruise control, lane detection system is only the foundation on which is based the more advanced technology. The new E-class is not just a way to stay in the lane, but also makes overtaking independent (in the event that the autopilot is turned on) and back into the lane, turn signal sensing is included as a signal for action. He does not just recognize the signs, but also acts on the basis of which: brakes, accelerates, restructured navigation, and more. In addition, can maneuver the sudden appearance of a pedestrian or traffic to prevent any conflicts. And that is especially pleased because it is a technology that allows to prevent any accident if the driver suddenly fell ill.
When the instructor told me that now we are going to simulate a heart attack, I really almost felt sick.
I know the situation where, for some reason, the technology did not fire, and all the trials ended unpleasantly. However, police did not rule out one of the driver.
In order to check the car action, you must fulfill several conditions. The first — is to be included Drive Pilot. It is, of course, a minus, but I'm sure that the seven-league steps of scientific technologies will soon allow to do without this condition.

The second — the driver removes his hands from the steering wheel and foot pedals to the car to make sure the person they no longer operates. Within a minute, the machine continues to move on autopilot, as if nothing had happened, but then showing concern. First served visual signal, no response after 30 seconds, it is served again. This is followed by a beeping sound. If the driver does not react to them, and then the car is taking concrete steps: turn on emergency gang and slows down until the final stop. That's only with the ambulance Mercedes yet alone does not bind.

Doing this on a public road, I realized that all this works fine. Excesses had happened, we safely braked and then I took it over, and we went on.
Another feature: the car passes the information to other vehicles. For example, if you mark on a satellite map an accident or any other incident Road, the new Mercedes E-class is able to transmit this information to the other vehicles. At first, only the E-Class, Mercedes and then another, and then all vehicles have to be equipped with such a system. And this information will be displayed at all on board, warning of the danger.

Against the background of the rest of technology seemed not so significant. E-class has become the pioneer in the brand's lineup, which will begin with the gradual modernization of all other Mercedes models. At this point in their organization (size plus the look plus the luxury saloon filling) he was could not be closer to the S-class. Many of the details and lines of the body and interior as borrowed from the «big brother». However, this trend of mixing of classes within range is present in the automotive industry for a long time: a compact model approach to the business class, who, in turn, to an executive sedans and limousines. As for competitors, it now turned out to be quite small. In my view, the E-Class, and stepped over the Bavarians went on, Ingolstadt is technologically more below. Looking forward, what cars will answer with a propeller, but their response is expected only by the end of 2016, when the plan to bring five new, and it's too big break...
