Williams Formula 1 team plans to manufacture road cars.
Williams Advanced Engineering division was founded in 2008; however, it has come into possession of its own building at the team’s headquarters in Grove, UK just now. A few days ago, the British Prime Minister David Cameron and the founder of the Williams Formula One racing team Frank Williams officially opened new advanced engineering facility.
250 experts will work on developing hybrid powertrains, electronics, and enhancement of aerodynamic characteristics of street-legal cars.
At the moment, the engineers help Nissan’s motorsport division in developing Nismo sports cars. Apart from that, Williams Advanced Engineering supply batteries for the new Formula-E series.
