J1 — the code name for the future of the electric vehicle Porsche. The novelty is to go into production in 2020 and will compete with Tesla Model S.
The basis of four electric cars will form its own platform, which was used in the concept of Mission E, but the version of the MEB platform from Volkswagen for electric cars have decided not to consider.
In turn, the Mission was equipped with all-wheel drive propulsion power of more than 600 hp, polnoupravlyaemym chassis and a power reserve of more than 500 km on a single charge.
It is known that Porsche is investing in this project is 700 million euros. The production will be organized in Leipzig and 1,000 professionals will be hired.
