German tuning studio Lumma Design is ready to upgrade the new-generation BMW X6 for those who like it hot. They promise an increase from 450 to 590 hp. The boosted version of the car will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015.
Engineers from the tuning studio were able to upgrade a 4.4-litre twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine. They readjusted the engine control unit and installed turbochargers, sports exhaust system, and racing catalysts. These manipulations helped lifting the power by 140 hp and raised the torque from 650 to 850 Nm. While the top speed of the standard version is limited to 250 km/h, the upgraded model can sprint to 295 km/h.
Well, of course, the engineers have not confined themselves to engine modifications only. They installed an aerodynamic body kit, made the wheel arches 50 mm wider. Side skirts, lower parts of front and rear bumpers, bonnet — they are all made of carbon fibre. But that’s not all. The X6 is fitted with rear diffusor and spoiler, which help increasing the downforce.
Inside one can find sports seats. The interior is trimmed with leather and Alcantara, it features velour floor mats and aluminium pedals. In addition to all modifications mentioned above, there are 22-inch light-alloy wheels and Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tyres, measuring 295/30 front and 335/25 rear.
