Eindhoven Technical University and Fontys University of Apllied sciences students developed a prototype sportcar IM01 which is aimed to beat Nurnburgring record.
InMotion company from Netherlands will build this car, and it will be introduced in 2015. IM01 will be equipped with four electric motors (every motor powers every wheel) and the energy will be produced by the rotor engine. Assumed top-speed is about 350kmh but there are no details at the moment.
If the things will go this way, in 2017 this prototype will take part in LeMans 24 hours marathon. The main aim is to beat Nurnburgring record which belongs to Stefan Bellof — it is 6 minutes and 11.13 seconds. Stefan set this record in 1983 driving Porsche 956 Group C. So Bellof got into the history and one of curves was named in his honor.
