The new updated Lexus IS came into Japanese domestic market and is now available in three modifications: petrol-powered IS 250, IS 350, and hybrid IS 300h.
Luxury cars fitted with 2.5-litre engines might feature both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive setup, while the 3.5-litre vehicle and the hybrid one are available only with rear-wheel drive layout. What concerns transmission, the 2.5-litre engine is mated to six-speed automatic gearbox, 3.5-litre engine features 8-speed gearbox, while the hybrid is coupled to a variator.
Sedan’s exterior remained the same. Among the innovations one can find LED headlights available for almost all models and auto dimming and folding rear-view mirrors, which now come as standard.
Interior design has been slightly changed — it concerns trimming materials and a new colour scheme. And it is still nice and comfortable. There is no word yet when the premiers will hit the European market.
