“In Australia there exists a large diesel SUV market and we are there to serve the customer”, says Lexus CEO Sean Hanley.

It improves fuel economy on one side. On the other side, many car manufacturers are trying to switch to hybrid powertrains. However, the engineers from Lexus are not hanging down their heads. They will probably borrow a diesel-powered engine from the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, which carries a 4.5-litre 235-hp motor under its bonnet.
