Toyota introduced the concept of the racing version of the S-FR

The public premiere of the prototype will be held at Tokyo Motor Show in January.

Conceptual coupe Toyota S-FR, presented at the October motor show in Tokyo, got the racing version. Her debut at the January Motor Show will be held in the Japanese capital.

The new longer, wider and lower than «civil» S-FR: length — 4100 mm (110), width — 1735 mm (40), height — 1270 mm (50). The size of the wheelbase remains the same (2480 mm), the weight is not known yet, but it will clearly be less than the 980 kg, which weighs «civil» version.


As befits a racing coupe, S-FR will receive an aggressive aerodynamic body kit, which includes an impressive front spoiler, rear diffuser, side «skirt», wheel arch extensions, rear wing. The prototype was deflectors of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, as well as additional ventilation openings in the hood.

Details about the engine yet. According to data drawn from insider sources, the «civilian» version will get a 1.2-liter «turbochetverku» from the updated Toyota Auris, which is able to give out 116 hp and 185 Nm of torque. Therefore, the motor racing version will be slightly boosted.
