Jag Coughlin back to NHRA

Six-time champion of the most popular series of NHRA drag strip on the back in the 2016 season!

If in the seventies and eighties in Pro Stock class it was not equal to Bob Gliddenu, and in the nineties Warren Johnson smashed his opponents left and right without encountering on its way special obstacles in zero so dominator was certainly Jag Coughlin Jr.

In the coming season, Coughlin Jr. finally returns to the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series as a permanent pilot team Elite Motorsports and will fight for the top jewels in a cage already, you might say, has issued its second title Erica Enders Stephens and basic contender for the title Rookie of the Year Drew Skillmanom.

By his forty-five years of Coughlin Jr. became a six-time champion of the NHRA (Pro Stock: 2001, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2013; Top Gas: 1998), and won the national championship of Event 76, 58 of them at the wheel of the car Pro Stock. In 1997, the Jag was the only driver in the history of NHRA, recorded in a single season number wins once in four classes (Pro Stock, Super Stock, Super Gas and Comp).

Also underlines the versatility of his talent that he is the first and only driver besides wins throughout his career in seven different divisions (Pro Stock, Comp, Top Dragster, Super Gas, Super Stock, Stock and Super Comp).

«I'm extremely happy to be back in the cockpit as a pilot dregster Elite Motorsports in 2016. I know Richard Freeman for many years, and he got picked really outstanding team — commented the six-time champion. — This season, I spent three races behind the wheel of a red Pro Stock Camaro, and I have no doubts about the competitiveness of Elite Motorsports. Especially me madly attracted to the fact that in 2016 we will have to compete in terms of the changed rules. I sincerely believe that our cooperation will be productive, long and extremely successful. »

«Erica's championship title in 2014 and its strong leadership on points this season, took us to a new level, — said Freeman himself. — And we are really proud that we could bring to the team of this scale as a pilot Jag Coughlin. »

And this is another reason to look forward to the start of the season 2016, because the return of the legend of the past decade in the regular season — is, like it or not, the loudest and most anticipated comeback in professional drag racing.
