ERC: two extra tires — and the victory goes to Russian!

The Russian crew won the final stage of the European Rally Championship.

Rallye Du Vallais — the final stage of European Rally Championship (ERC), which was held in Switzerland last weekend.

The three-day race includes 17 special stages. The Russian crew — Alexey Lukyanyuk and Alexei Arnautova — performed at the Ford Fiesta R5. Also on the race was another Russian crew — Nikolai Gryazin Yaroslav Fedorov on the Škoda Fabia R5.

For two days, Alex Arnautov and Alex Lukyanyuk were in third place at the time in the «absolute», losing to Olivier Burri Citroen DS3 RRC and raced ahead of Craig Breen in a Peugeot 208 T16.

On the third day, Olivier Burri made a mistake on one of the sites, and it launched. Time has been lost, but it's good impact on our crew. Lukyanyuk Arnautov and burst into second place (2: 32: 53.0). First place went to Craig Breen (2: 32: 13.6).

Separation is not space but time is the time. However, it would be possible to live with it, if not unexpected circumstances: Brin gave a penalty 2 minutes for exceeding the permitted use of the wheels according to the regulations. Instead of 18 tires he was 20. So our crew moved to the line above and received trophies for winning victory in the final stage of the ERC!

As for Nicholas Gryazina and Yaroslav Fedorov, they, too, succumbed to the heat, especially on the final day. As a result, they got the sixth place in the «absolute» (2: 37: 27.4).
