The new sports car will replace the MP4–12C model, which had 51 career wins and climbed the podium 71 times.

In what way is it different? It still has a 3.8-litre eight-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine delivering 500 hp, however, engine cooling system has been upgraded and the radiator has been relocated. It is fitted with a six-speed sequential gearbox.

McLaren 650S has a 52mm wider track, modified front suspension, and lighter and more robust roll cage. It also features six-piston callipers and 380mm discs at the front, with a four-piston setup at the rear over 355mm discs.

But McLaren is not going to stop here. Quite soon, the company plans to build a 1000-hp track-focused P1 hybrid with an expected price tag of $3.35 million.
