Jaguar Special Operations division is to produce 250 superfast F-Type Project 7 cars. The first of them revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The company claims the F-Type Project 7 to be able to demonstrate the best lap time at Nürburgring in the entire company’s history. The contender for the title of the fastest Jaguar ever sprints to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The car is fitted with a 5.0-litre eight-cylinder supercharged engine delivering 575 hp and 680 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. It is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes with 398mm front and 380mm rear discs allied to six- and four-piston callipers respectively.
It features a modified front suspension, new front and rear anti-roll bars, updated front and rear spring and damper units, which are now height adjustable.
The exterior of the roadster is made in the classic D-Type style — this car used to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the mid-1950s. As reported by motor.ru, aerodynamic modifications provide a 2/3 increase in downforce at the top speed of 300 km/h.
Needless to say, the F-Type Project 7 will have a special plaque indicating the number of the car and signed by Ian Callum, chief designer of the British marque, as it is a limited edition.
The price of the premiere will start at $230,000.
