There's a time for everything. Now it’s turn for the street-legal modification of Bentley Continental GT3-R to sprint to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. As a result, the coupé has become the fastest street-legal car in the company’s history.
Nobody knows how exactly they came up with an idea of turning a car built for Le Mans races into a road-going version. Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 4-litre twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine delivering 580 hp and 700 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission with shorter output gearing and improved paddle shifting. Can you imagine that? According to the company, they have made the Continental GT3-R “the most dynamic, responsive and involving Bentley road car ever”. All-wheel drive system has been redesigned: Torque Vectoring system is now available for the owners — it varies constantly the amount of torque delivered to each wheel individually. Brakes gripped by eight-piston callipers use carbon silicon carbide discs — 420 mm front and 356 mm rear.
Rear seats were removed making it lighter. The sports car also features a titanium exhaust system. As a result, the Continental GT3-R became 100 kg lighter and now it weighs 2,195 kg. Its exterior is about “pure racing” featuring an aerodynamic package with additional air inlets and carbon fibre, and 21-inch wheels wearing Pirelli tyres.
Well, according to all these specs, it should go straight on the track instead of driving to the bakery to get some bread.
