Tesla to create an amphibious supercar

While Toyota is working on building cars powered by tomatoes or hovering above the ground, electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors decided to create an amphibious supercar based on the model featured in the James Bond film.

Sure enough, this is not the major company’s objective; however, according to Tesla’s boss, this wonder car is created not just for fun but also for pragmatic reasons. They say that any fantasy can be realised if enough effort is taken. As reported by auto.vesti.ru, the amphibious vehicle will be built on the base of the Model S sedan, while its exterior will be borrowed from the Lotus Esprit used in the James Bond film. It will be a truly limited edition. Indeed, few people will be ready to spend a lot of money (the exact price has not been announced yet) for dubious efficiency on… water.

Meanwhile, Tesla is still working on producing an electric crossover Model X with the price tag of about $50,000. Together with that, the company is opening up their patents to support the «open source» movement saying: “Go ahead and use them, dear competitors, let’s fight for the customers”.
