There is life in the old dog in drag racing veterans. And leaders need to think about stability.

Held in Norfolk next stage NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series was again rich in surprises. Veterans took first place in all classes, while the leaders of the championship in their background looked not the best way.

Greg Anderson caught up with Eric Enders Stephens for most wins in a season, Doug Kalitta for the first time in his career, earned the highest trophy on home strip in Norwalk, and the victorious march of Jack Beckman earned him third place in the standings.

Doug Kalitta joins a list of their achievements thirty-seventh podium with a score of 3.823 seconds @ 322.34 mph, beating Antron Brown in the final, which by the end of Event still continues to occupy the top spot of the standings in the class Top Fuel (TF) by a small margin on teammate Tony Schumacher. Stage Ohio Kalitta held much better than the previous ones, during which a reliable motors or bad setting dregster did not allow him to speak at a competitive level. And first place in the qualifying heats direct proof, this time fiftieth veteran really was not equal. The result — a well-deserved third place by the number of points for the season. However, Richie Krempton and three-time champion Larry Dixon on his heels with the fourth and fifth places respectively.

Not without incident. During qualifying Terry McMillan brakes failed and one open the parachute was not enough to effectively slow the car, but a sand trap and a lawn in front of a corn field coped with the brake function: dregster intact, the pilot was not injured.

In the classroom Funny Cars (FC) rivalry between John Force Racing and Don Schumacher Racing remains the leitmotif of the last stages. Jack Beckman in the early races Shootout very confidently dealt with by the Force and Robert Hite, and the daughter of the most titled racing driver in the history of NHRA Courtney went home two pilots competing teams Ron Capps and Matt Hagan. As a result, in the final they met for the first time this year, has come down to the final pilotessa conceded Bekmanu for which Summit Racing Equipment Nationals ended eighteenth Wally in his career with a score of 4.211 in the final seconds @ 301.67 mph. Champion in 2012 after a disastrous season 2013 and 2014 in which he did not win a single stage, well rehabilitated, earning a third victory on this championship.

Also worth noting is how heroically Tim Wilkerson after slipping in the middle of the strip, not confused and without releasing gas, has managed to keep its dregster on track and reach the finish line first.

Greg Anderson was again faster than their opponents in the final with a margin of 0.0067 seconds defeated Drew Skillmanom that acts Erica Enders Stephens for one team, having passed for 6,592 kvoter @ 212.19. The very same Erik second time in the season has taken off from the struggle for higher regalia in the first round. And lost it at the beginning of the knockout rounds again outsider Alan Pruzinski that takes at the moment the last line of the table. At the same time Stephen Enders performed brilliantly throughout qualifying, following which took first place. But that's drag racing, and even the right to the slightest mistake, as the time to fix it, there is simply no.

In an interview after the race, Anderson said that competition in the class of Pro Stock (PS) now just crazy, and consistently winning is almost impossible. And this eloquent figures, because the pilots go from the start, featuring a fantastic response time, and the cars come to the finish line with a margin of a few centimeters. The championship is in full swing, with each event becoming hotter.
