Mercedes-Benz plans to develop C-class four-door coupe together with Formula1 motorsports division.
Thomas Weber, head of research and development department said in his interview to AutoExpress that new model is positioned between CLA and CLS.
C-Class models are equipped with different petrol and diesel engines having output from 115 to 333 hp. There are also two hybrid-powered versions: C 300 BlueTEC Hybrid having 231 hp and 6-cylindered petrol C 350 Hybrid with 279hp.
“We are intensively looking at remaining niches that will provide us with profitability and growth.” — Proudly announced Tomas Weber. And it is quite easy to the company to create not only sedan but four-door coupe as well.
And the most interesting idea is to engage F1 “Silver arrows” engineers to new models development.
