Audi decided to demonstrate its sport potential by concentrating it in the tiny A3. All-wheel drive Clubsport Quattro sedan was built on the S3 platform. It can boast of a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 525 hp.
What concerns the peak torque of the all-new vehicle, it has increased up to 600 Nm (in the range of 2,300–6,000 rpm). The sedan is fitted with seven-speed semi-automatic dual-clutch S-tronic transmission. The premiere is equipped with a larger turbocharger with up to 1.5 bar of relative boost pressure, upgraded intercooler, and new intake and exhaust systems.
The car now features a 10-mm lower suspension, new brakes boasting 370mm carbon-ceramic discs for the front wheels, 21-inch wheels with 275/25 tyres, electrically operated rear spoiler. By the way, the spoiler can also serve as air brake, programmed to work at braking speeds above 250km/h — it reduces the stopping distances by up to 12 metres. Clubsport Quattro А3 will weigh 1,527 kg; it will sprint to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, while its top speed will be set at 310 km/h.
As reported by motor.ru, Audi development boss, Ulrich Hackenberg, stated that the company’s engineers “have pushed the limits in every respect with this show car: power, dynamics, sound, design”.
The ‘ideal power’ of the Clubsport Quattro А3 sedan will be revealed in the end of May in Austria at the Wörthersee tuning festival.
