The engineers from the AMG Performance Studio decided to make the owners of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 coupé happy and prepared three upgrade kits: Carbon, Night, and AMG Driver's Package. The cars will be available for pre-order and it will be possible to get them right from the factory together with a tour and a story about the car’s assembly.
The most interesting variant out of these three packages is the AMG Driver's Package, which allows shifting the top speed limit from 250 km/h to 300 km/h. The major emphasis is laid on speed, however, the question of car’s weight was not left aside either. The package comprises both carbon fibre engine compartment cover and doorsills with illuminated «AMG» lettering, red brake callipers, and steering wheel wrapped in leather and microfiber.
Carbon and Night packages do not offer any drastic changes in car handling. The body is available in either carbon fibre or glossy black paint. The engineers have changed the design of the side skirts, rear view mirror housing, front splitter, rear diffusor. Few touches were added to the interior. The Night package also offers a gloss finish and four squared-off exhaust tips as an option.
The customers can also opt for carbon ceramic brakes, callipers (yellow or red), and 22-inch wheels (5- or 10-spoke).
In Europe, the price of the Mercedes-Benz S 63 coupé fitted with the 585-hp engine starts at €126,000. There is no word regarding the price of the packages yet, however, it is known that they will also comprise an invitation to participate in driver training at the Mercedes-Benz Driver Academy.
