By the year 2017 Porsche plans to launch production of the new modified Cayman, which is to be even more powerful than the flagship GTS version. Its name will have GT4 added. The premiere is expected to have a 3.4-litre engine delivering 330 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled with either PDK automatic or six-speed manual gearbox.
As reported by motor.ru, the current version of Cayman has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in 7 minutes 55 seconds, while the previous-generation Porsche 911 Turbo did it in 7:56 and the time set by Ferrari F430 is 7:55. Apparently, this result will be improved soon.
Unfortunately, there is no word regarding the technical specs yet, nevertheless, the price has already been announced. As the joke goes, Cayman is for those who don’t have enough money for the 911. However, all things change and the price of the new GT4 will be around 4,300,000 RUB (approx. €89,000).
