Super manufacturer of supercars from England decided to surprise its fans and potential customers once again. Bentley is ready to launch the Continental Supersports fitted with the new V8 powerplant.
Allegedly, the carmaker plans to inbreathe the spirit of sports in both its cars, and the company itself. The launch of the specified lineup should mark not only the new sales and tech pitch, but also the return of the British company to the world of motorsports. Bentley decided to celebrate this occasion on a large scale like it usually does.
According to the company’s CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer, who will return to the Chairman slot in June 2014, the project has already received informal approval while they will still have to wait for the official one until June. However, Dürheimer says it’s nothing but formality. The new version of the model, popular among the brand's customers, appeared as a project about a year ago when Bentley returned to the world of racing.
So, what is Bentley Continental Supersports V8 going to be about? As its name suggests, the major innovation is the V8 engine producing 545 hp. Earlier the company was considering using a V12, however, after numerous estimations and considerations, the engineers decided that such technical specs wouldn’t be comfortable in everyday life. Though the 700-hp engine could have attracted customers ready to sacrifice their comfort for “a herd of horses” under the bonnet.
